Photo Compressor Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Photo Compressor (“the App”) handles information when you use the App.

1. Photo processing
Photo Compressor allows users to select images from their device and compress them to a chosen maximum file size. Photo processing is performed locally on the user's device. Selected photos are not uploaded to our servers for compression.
The App currently supports JPEG images and compatible opaque PNG images. Images may be temporarily copied to the App's private storage while processing. The App does not modify the original selected photos.
Successfully compressed images are saved to the device's shared media storage, normally under Pictures/Photo Compressor. These saved files remain on the device until the user deletes them.
2. Photo metadata
When an image is compressed, the App removes most embedded image metadata. Compressed JPEG files may retain normalized image orientation, valid original capture date information, and valid original timezone offset information associated with the capture date.
Other metadata, including GPS location metadata, camera make/model information, thumbnails, MakerNotes, and other EXIF metadata, is removed from compressed output where applicable.
3. Information stored locally
Photo Compressor does not require a user account. The App stores a small amount of information locally on the device to support its functionality, including a preference indicating whether the App has previously produced a successful compression result. This is used to determine the App's free/rewarded-ad experience.
This information is not transmitted to the developer. Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App removes its private local data. Compressed images already saved to shared device storage may remain until the user deletes them.
Temporary processing files are stored in app-private storage and are normally removed during or after processing. Android may also manage and remove cache files automatically.
4. Advertising
Photo Compressor is supported by advertising and uses Google Mobile Ads. The App currently uses rewarded advertisements. A user may choose to view a rewarded advertisement in exchange for processing a larger batch of selected photos. Compression functionality remains available without requiring the user to view an advertisement.
Google's advertising SDK may automatically collect and transmit certain information to Google for purposes including advertising, ad measurement, analytics, diagnostics, and fraud prevention. Depending on the device, region, consent choices, and Google SDK configuration, this information may include:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate location;
- interactions with the App and advertisements;
- diagnostic and performance information;
- Android Advertising ID;
- App Set ID; and
- other device or account-related identifiers used by Google's advertising services.
Photo Compressor does not operate its own advertising profile database or advertising server. Google processes advertising-related information according to its own privacy policies and applicable consent choices.
5. Consent and privacy choices
Photo Compressor uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request or manage advertising consent where required. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may be shown options relating to personalized advertising, data processing, or other advertising privacy choices.
Where Google indicates that privacy choices are available, the App provides a way to reopen those choices. The App's Privacy Policy link and Google's advertising Privacy choices are separate controls.
6. Analytics
Photo Compressor does not currently use Firebase Analytics or another developer-operated analytics service. The App contains an internal analytics interface, but in the current version it does not transmit analytics events to the developer or to a developer-controlled analytics service.
Google Mobile Ads may independently process advertising-related interaction and diagnostic information as described above.
7. Data sharing
The developer does not receive or sell the contents of photos selected for compression. Photo content is not shared with Google Mobile Ads for the purpose of performing image compression.
Information processed by Google's advertising and consent SDKs may be transmitted to and processed by Google as described in Section 4. The App does not currently share user information with additional advertising networks, mediation providers, Firebase, payment providers, or developer-operated servers.
8. Data security
Photo processing is performed locally on the device. The App uses Android's system photo-selection mechanisms and shared-media storage APIs rather than requesting broad access to the user's entire photo library.
Information transmitted by Google's advertising services is handled by Google according to its security practices.
9. Data retention and deletion
The developer does not maintain a server-side database of Photo Compressor users or their photos.
To remove App-private information, users may clear Photo Compressor's app data through Android settings or uninstall Photo Compressor. Compressed images saved to shared device storage are user-controlled files and must be deleted by the user if they are no longer wanted.
Information collected directly by Google through its advertising services is subject to Google's own retention and deletion policies.
10. Children's privacy
Photo Compressor is intended for adult users and is not designed or directed toward children. The App is not marketed as a children's application.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Photo Compressor's functionality, data practices, third-party services, or legal requirements change. The current version will remain available at this public Privacy Policy URL, and the “Last updated” date will be revised when material changes are made.
